Marine Robotics Trailblazer EyeROV Secures Pre-Series A Funding to Fuel Global Expansion

What is the news?

EyeROV, the innovative marine robotics startup led by Indian-origin founders Johns T. Mathai and Kannappa Palaniappan P, has announced a significant milestone in its growth journey. The company raised ₹13 Crore ($1.44 million) in a pre-Series A funding round co-invested by AWE Funds and Unicorn India Ventures. Founded in 2017, EyeROV has rapidly emerged as a leader in the underwater inspection segment, providing critical robotic solutions for infrastructure, energy, and defense applications.

Why is it interesting?

The startup’s success underscores India’s rising prominence as a hub for deep-tech and hardware innovation. EyeROV’s proprietary Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) are designed to replace risky manual diving inspections with high-precision, AI-powered data collection. Having already executed projects for major entities such as Tata Power, BPCL, and the Indian Navy including a recent ₹47 crore order from the latter the company is now prepared to bring its “Robotics-as-a-Service” (RaaS) model to the international stage.

This funding will be instrumental in accelerating EyeROV’s R&D efforts and supporting the launch of new products aimed at global marine research and offshore energy sectors. As EyeROV expands its footprint into international corridors, it continues to demonstrate the immense capability of Indian founders in solving complex, global industrial challenges through advanced technology.
