Indian-Led “Startup Middle East” Launches New Hub in Sharjah to Pave Way for Indian Startups into the UAE

What is the news?

In a landmark move to strengthen ties between the Indian and UAE startup ecosystems, the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center (Sheraa) has partnered with Startup Middle East, an organization founded by Indian-origin CEO Siby Sudhakaran.
The collaboration will see the launch of the “India Startup Hub (ISH)” in Sharjah, a dedicated platform designed to provide Indian entrepreneurs with direct access to the resources, capital, and networks of one of the world’s fastest-growing economies. This partnership is a testament to the influence of Indian Origin Founders who are not just building companies but creating entire global innovation corridors.

Why is it interesting?

The initiative goes beyond a simple agreement, outlining a clear roadmap to support Indian startups at every stage of their journey, from securing funding news to navigating regulatory landscapes and connecting with strategic partners. The hub is a direct response to the global trend of Indian startups adopting a “global-first” approach, building solutions with international applicability from day one.

By providing a physical presence and a supportive ecosystem in the UAE, the hub dramatically reduces the barriers to entry for Indian firms looking to expand into the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the broader Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This move solidifies the Founders Community of the Indian diaspora and reinforces India’s position as a global leader in intellectual capital and innovation.

This partnership, spearheaded by a Global Indian Alpha, creates a powerful two-way street for innovation. It not only helps Indian startups expand but also creates new opportunities for UAE-based ventures to tap into India’s vast and dynamic tech landscape. The establishment of the India Startup Hub is a tangible example of how global collaboration can foster innovation and economic growth, showcasing the profound impact Indian-origin leaders are making on the world stage.
