Suman Gandham and Vikash Srivastava’s Vobiz.ai Secures $1 Million to Fix AI’s “Telecom Problem”

What is the news?

Vobiz.ai, a pioneering telephony infrastructure platform, has announced a $1 million seed funding round led by Piper Serica VC Fund. Founded in 2025 by industry veterans Suman Gandham and Vikash Srivastava, the Bengaluru-based startup is tackling a unique challenge: legacy telecom systems are too slow for the rapid processing speeds required by modern Artificial Intelligence. Vobiz provides an AI-native, low-latency infrastructure that allows developers to integrate voice capabilities such as real-time call streaming and noise cancellation into AI products in minutes.

Why is it interesting?

The startup’s founders bring a wealth of experience from the fintech and CPaaS sectors. Srivastava, previously with Plivo, and Gandham, founder of the neobank Finin, recognized that while AI “brains” (LLMs) were evolving quickly, the “nerves” (telephony layers) were lagging. By offering instant number provisioning across 130 countries, Vobiz is enabling global AI companies to scale without the friction of traditional telecom compliance and connectivity issues.
