Sigma Advanced Systems Secures ₹460 Crore to Fuel Global Aerospace Expansion and Strategic Acquisitions

What is the news?

Hyderabad- and UK-based aerospace and defence manufacturer Sigma Advanced Systems has raised approximately ₹460 crore via a preferential allotment. Led by Chennai-based Spark Capital through its equity capital markets platform Midas Transactions, the funding round drew participation from 23 prominent family offices and UHNIs. CEO Sunil Kalidindi highlighted that the fresh capital will be aggressively deployed toward strengthening the firm’s global manufacturing footprint, acquiring complementary technical capabilities, and expanding cross-border supply chains.

Why is it interesting?

Up to 75% of the capital has been earmarked for inorganic growth opportunities, expanding on Sigma’s recent high-profile international moves. These include acquiring 100% of UK-based Bromford Precision Solutions for £11.89 million (₹153 crore) and previously absorbing the UK’s Nasmyth Group. Additionally, the company recently inked a landmark 7-year contract worth nearly £300 million (₹3,800 crore) with Rolls-Royce for high-precision aerospace components, alongside a surging order book across North America.

Sigma specializes in designing and manufacturing precision-engineered platforms and mission-critical solutions across defense and aerospace sectors—including counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS), missile systems, radar, and electronic warfare. The successful capital raise underscores the rising global profile of Indian-led deeptech and defense engineering enterprises operating seamlessly across India, Europe, and North America.
