C2i Semiconductors Secures $15M Series A to Redefine Power Delivery for Global AI Infrastructure

What is the news?

C2i Semiconductors, a deep-tech venture based in Bengaluru, has announced a $15 million Series A funding round led by Peak XV Partners. The round also saw participation from Yali Deeptech and TDK Ventures, bringing the company’s total funding to $19 million. Founded in 2024 by a distinguished team of semiconductor industry leaders Ram Anant, Preetam Tadeparthy, Vikram Gakhar, and Dattatreya Suryanarayana, C2i is tackling the critical “power bottleneck” currently facing the global AI industry.

Why is it interesting?

The company’s mission is to rethink how power flows from the electrical grid directly to the processor core. Traditional power architectures are increasingly inefficient under the massive energy demands of modern GPUs. C2i’s “grid-to-core” integrated solution aims to slash energy losses by up to 10%, a breakthrough that could translate to massive operational savings for data center operators and hyperscalers worldwide.

By leveraging decades of experience at global leaders like Texas Instruments and National Semiconductor, the C2i team exemplifies the “Global Indian Alpha” spirit: Indian-origin expertise solving high-complexity hardware problems for a global audience. The startup is now aggressively expanding, with plans to establish offices in the U.S. and Taiwan to support early deployments and validate their silicon designs with international partners.
