Octobotics Secures ₹10 Crore Seed Funding to Transform Industrial Inspection with AI-Robotics
What is the news?
Octobotics, a pioneering AI-enabled robotics startup, has announced the successful closure of its seed funding round, raising approximately ₹10 Crore. Founded in 2020 by Indian-origin entrepreneurs Ishan Bhatnagar and Gulshan Kumar, the company specializes in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) robotics. The funding round was led by Navam Capital, with additional support from BYT Capital, marking a significant vote of confidence in the company’s mission to automate high-risk industrial inspections.
Why is it interesting?
The startup’s technology addresses a critical need in asset-intensive industries such as chemicals, oil and gas, power, and marine sectors. By deploying robotic platforms to inspect hazardous or confined spaces, Octobotics significantly reduces human risk while increasing data accuracy. Their current product portfolio includes rail inspection systems and automated weld inspection platforms that serve a global-facing clientele, including Saudi S-Chem and the Indian Navy.
With this new injection of capital, Octobotics is set to accelerate its international footprint, specifically targeting operations in Singapore and the Middle East. This expansion highlights the growing influence of the “Global Indian Alpha” narrative, where Indian innovation is exported to solve complex structural and safety challenges on a global scale.
